Friends, supporters, members, partners and staff gathered for a luncheon to honor the 30 fabulous years of achievement by one of Brooklyn's fighting progressive organizations The Black Veterans For Social Justice The event was held at the group's Willoughby Street headquarters in Bedford Stuyvesant. Matthew Weinstein (bicyclist) > Job Mashariki presents the Purple Heart certificate to the father of Ricky Singh. The Purple Heart was issued to  Ricky Singh, a former vice-president of the Black Vets, who passed away in September of 2007. He is remembered and cherished as an outstanding leader of BVSJ.

Matthew Weinstein (bicyclist) > Ayana Ajanaku, Senior Vice President of BVSJ, chaired the meeting. Here she thanks Reverend Daughtry for his tribute.
Matthew Weinstein (bicyclist) > Job Mashariki, founder and CEO of BVSJ, takes the podium to applause and acclamation. He summed up the 30 years of his organization's help to Brooklyn's African-American veterans.
