Matthew Weinstein (bicyclist)  > Family > A Summer Visit to Hampton
August 23, 2009.

After a wedding on Stacey's side of the family (which took place in Maryland) we continued our vacation with a visit to Hampton and Dani, Erik and Ethan. We were last there in June but what a difference a couple of months make!

Dani is pregnant and expecting another child in early April. This was an opportunity to cut her some slack - we would let her sleep later and take care of early-rising Ethan. Was that a chore? No way! It was a pleasure and we wanted more and more. He's a joy - a sweet, bright and articulate almost-three-year old. So here's your semi-monthly photo report on our grandson, Ethan. Enjoy! - Matt

Matthew Weinstein (bicyclist) > Pardon my grandfatherly boasting but this little boy is a bundle of joy. His articulation of word and sentence are music to my ears. Every step is filled with an effervescent enthusiasm and a search for new things to discover. That summer evening walk with Ethan was an experience I wish I could freeze in time and preserve in my memory forever.
Matthew Weinstein (bicyclist) > The next morning we took another walk - down to the Hampton docks and a local cafe. "C'mon Grandpa ... walk with us!"
Matthew Weinstein (bicyclist) > Ethan drives his tractor down a long white road.
Matthew Weinstein (bicyclist) > At the coffee shop where he introduced himself to the owner as "just Ethan."
Matthew Weinstein (bicyclist) > Ethan and his Bomba.
Matthew Weinstein (bicyclist) > On the third day in Hampton we drove to Buckroe Beach, just a few minutes away. It was a rough surf with frequent waves. That kept Ethan from venturing into the water.
Matthew Weinstein (bicyclist) > "C'mon in, the water's great." This was greeted with a tearful "Come on out of the water Bomba."
Matthew Weinstein (bicyclist) > On the fourth day, a trip to Starbucks and some cold water for the little boy on a hot day.
